Victoria Jewell-Mahler, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is also clinical assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School and completed her residency at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Jewell-Mahler’s clinical interests include developmental pediatrics, breastfeeding support, mental health and wellbeing, and education for children, parents, and students. Of the more than 7,000 physicians and advanced practice providers within UPMC, Dr. Jewell-Mahler was awarded the 2019 Excellence in Patient Experience award, one of only 48 recipients. This year also marked her 15 years of service to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics.
Prior to medicine, Dr. Jewell-Mahler’s favorite job was babysitting, which has evolved into a love of mentoring young people. Currently, she is a guide for students at the University of Michigan Medical School through their HOST network, a local contact for U of M transplants to the Pittsburgh hospitals training programs, and works with residents from UPMC Children’s. In her spare time, Dr. Jewell-Mahler finds joy in curling up with a good book, walking the winding, hilly trails of Pittsburgh, paddling her stand up paddle board at North Park Lake, and scuba diving in the tropics.

Wow! I am SO grateful for Dr. Jewell's help with this appointment. We have had great experiences at CCP but really, Dr. Jewell went above and beyond to help our newborn daughter. I really believe that if we had not ended up getting an appointment on that day that we may have had to admit our newborn to the hospital, which we were able to avoid with the help of an excellent treatment plan that Dr Jewell developed for us.Really Dr Jewell: you are wonderful and I can't thank you enough for your care of our daughter!

My daughter saw Dr Jewell for a sensitive medical concern and I truly appreciate the way she handled the discussion. She treated my daughter with kindness, dignity, and respect and made sure she was well informed of her results and next steps. My daughter has autism. Dr. Jewell was extremely patient and kind to her. She provided positive reinforcement for my daughter's concerns. Dr. Jewell was well prepared as she reviewed records from my daughter's appointments with specialists. She complemented her on how she has become better at expressing herself.

Dr Jewel is an incredibly caring, responsive and professional doctor. I highly recommend her. She takes her job as caregiver very seriously and is very good at relating to her patients so that they listen to her.

Dr Jewel is an excellent physician. She listens to your concerns and acts on the behave of the child to make sure they are the healthiest they can be. Explains everything well to patient and includes them in plan of care.

Dr Jewel is always so thorough. She is compassionate and listens well, both of my children are comfortable talking with her. She explains everything so well. She listens to parent concerns and works with you to create a plan for any issues you may have. Outstanding provider!
