Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the use of updated COVID-19 vaccines formulated to target the current circulating variants and to provide better protection against serious consequences of COVID-19, including hospitalization and death. Given today’s actions, UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics is no longer permitted to administer our supply of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The new COVID-19 vaccine will be ordered soon. Once it arrives within our office, more information will be provided about vaccine administration and appointment scheduling. In the meantime, please contact your CCP pediatrician with any questions.
